Our New Arrival!

Yep that is right it is a GIRL!!

Miss Mia blessed us with her arrival early Saturday morning February 5th at 0357. I went into labor on my own Friday morning!! Yippee!! My contractions started at about 6 am Friday morning and grew stronger and closer together throughout the day...Lou had worked Thursday night so he was asleep. I woke him up around 11 in the morning and told him I thought I was in labor....we sat around for awhile wondering if this was really it or not....finally the contractions were about 3-5 minutes apart and lasting at least a minute long so we called Dr. Weister, got our bags and headed to the hospital.

We arrived at the hospital around 4:30 got checked in and placed on the monitor. I was terrifed they would tell me I wasn't in labor and send me home, but we were right, this was the real deal! I was dilated to 4 and having contraction every 2-3 minutes....we got up and walked the halls for awhile hoping to help progress the labor. When the nurses checked again I was still at 4cm....yikes! So we walked more and the next time I was at 5cm!! Progress was being made :)

They started my epidural and then broke my water around 11 pm, by 3am I was complete and ready to push...then at 0357 Miss Mia was here!! Earlier in the evening Lou and I were guessing at what time we thought the baby would arrive and I chose 0215, which obviously came and went without a baby, and Lou actually picked 0357 which was right on!! Lucky guess :)

Anyway, everything went well and we were blessed with a healthy newborn girl weighing in at 6 pounds 11.9 ounces and 19 1/4 inches long. She has a full head of dark brown hair, HUGE blue eyes and is beautiful. Lou and I are both smitten with her and have decided that she definitely looks like a Parfitt.
