Happy "Groupon" Date

So for those of you that do not know what a "groupon" is, let me explain. If you live in a big city (Sorry Athens Girls! You won't be able to enjoy the groupon adventure!) there is a website www.groupon.com that you can sign up for daily coupons for activities, dinners, shows etc. for your area for an amazing discounted price. The catch is a certain amount of "groupons" have to be sold before the coupon will be able to be used. Does that make sense? If not let me give an example, I bought Lou and I each a 90 minute massage for 29.00 a piece!! I know a HUGE deal! However 1,000 people had to buy the "groupon" before they would let the deal go through, hence the "groupon" instead of coupon!

Last Saturday night, we had our first official "groupon" date! I had bought the daily "groupon" a while back, the deal was it cost 25.00 but you got 50.00 worth of drinks and food for the 25.00 amount! So pretty much it was half off!

So we got ready and headed to Cherry Creek and experience the miniBAR. I would have to rate the bar a 2.5 out of 5 stars. I checked out the website before we headed down and they got the name because they served only mini portions (which I was thinking tapas) of food and had supposedly great drink specials. Our plan was to go for dinner and have a drink or two...well they only had 5 appetizers on the menu and that was IT, no tapas. So instead we had two appetizers and more like 3 drinks! Which in the end worked out, but when we got home we were so hungry we had to have a frozen pizza!!

To finish out our date night, we sat on the couch, ate frozen pizza and watched the Supercross finale in Las Vegas and of course my favorite Ryan Dungey won the season so needless to say I was a happy camper!

Overall the date night was a nice night out that the two of us haven't had in awhile! However, for those of you in Denver I wouldn't suggest the miniBAR, but hey it only cost us $25.00 thanks to our "groupon!"

Until our next "groupon" date......

  1. Good job finding all those deals! It's still just fun to make the memories together.
