Our latest Adventures

Sorry it has been so long since we have posted..we have been trying to get into a new routine since I went back to work.  I am starting to adjust back to work life, but it is still hard to leave Mia :)

So to catch up!!

Mia is a whopping 11 pounds now...unfortunately she woke up with another rash about a week and a half ago and we headed into the pediatrician to find out that she had another virus.  The rash lasted a couple of days and then Miss Mia started her 12 week growth spurt, so she was up and eating every 2-3 hours at night.  For those of you that don't have kids let me just warn you...growth spurts are EXHAUSTING!!

We were able to celebrate Mia's first Easter by decorating Easter eggs with our friends Lisa, Andy, and Mia's Denver BFF Isabella! Mia dyed a beautiful green egg with her name on it! When the egg dying was over, Mia, Isabella, and Lou lounged in the chair and watched Cat in the Hat cartoons, what better way to spend a Saturday than with good friends and cartoons!

Grandma Hollen was our saving grace. She just happened to be here throughout the growth spurt and was a HUGE help. Two mornings she had Mia up, dressed and fed before I even got out of bed. I forgot what it was like to get so much uninterrupted sleep.  Lou and I were both able to catch up on a little bit of sleep.

While Grandma was here we took Mia to the Denver aquarium and it was a hit! Lou would hold her up to the tanks and she would just stare at all the colorful fishy's! ;) She was awake for the whole adventure and then took a long 3 hour nap!

Grandma headed back to sunny North Carolina and it was back to reality for Lou and me! I think Mia is over her growth spurt and we are praying she goes back to sleeping 4-7 hours at a time.  We are looking forward to our May play group and celebrating my big 3-0 birthday in a couple of weeks.

Mia also wanted to wish Aunt Cassie a HUGE happy birthday and we are anxiously waiting Miss Spencer's arrival within the next couple of weeks :)

  1. The future marine biologist had a great time visiting the aquarium. She got to watch fish spit at crickets, she saw a tiger, and observed the marine animals....she whispered in my ear that she wants to learn all she can and I can take her to any "educational" trip we can find. When she is old enough, her daddy and I are going to take her to Sonic for hotdogs and slushes...Mommy can go too, but she won't eat the hotdogs!
