Who can pass up eating pancakes in their Jammie's?
Pancakes and Jammie's just happen to be two of Mia's favorite things so I thought that would be the perfect theme for this years birthday! However, sickness took over our household and the party had to be cancelled. Poor Mia!
On Mia's actual birthday we had pizza and cake and opened presents. Eleni and Athena Slaughter from across the street came over to join us and of course Grandma Hollen flew out to spend the week with the birthday girl. The day after Mia's birthday we headed over to Courtney's house for her 3 year pictures and I could just tell Mia was not feeling well. After pictures we attempted lunch, but really all she wanted to do was go to sleep and she woke up that afternoon with a 102 temp, runny nose and nasty cough. It wasn't that long before Eli had the same thing! Therefore her party was cancelled and Grandma spent the rest of her trip helping Lou and I take care of sick babies.
Now that Mia is 3 she wears a size 8 shoe, size 3t clothes even though they are big on her, but 2t clothes are too short, she wears a pull up for nap and nighttime, she goes to bed around 7:30 and gets up between 6:30-7:30. She has had her hair trimmed once.
Some of Mia's sayings:
No way Jose
Whatcha say?
Watch me
Watch me
Holy Moly
Oh Man!
Leave me alone!

Favorite Things to do:
Color and Paint/ Crafts
Play in Sandbox
Dance
Play with her babies
Watch Movies
Go to the Park
Some of Mia's favorites right now are: leopards, movies, Chicken Nuggets, goldfish crackers, Nutella sandwiches, Stories and songs at bedtime, her "friends" across the street and at Pre-school and of course she has a real love for all animals!
Since Mia turned 3 we were able to start her in a creative movement class! She loves it, she at times would just stand around and tap her foot, but at home she will bust out all of her new dance moves.

I wouldn't miss a birthday for any reason, even if there isn't a fun party. I must say, Mia and three go together so well. I always loved three year olds when I worked with preschoolers. So sweet, independent, loved to talk, and wanted to learn lots of new things. She is such a joy to be around. I think I am one of her buddies now...she smiles and hugs me each time she sees me. What a joy! xoxo Grandma Hollen
