Jane flew in Friday morning for her first visit to Denver and her first time meeting Miss Mia! It had been a rough week for Mia due to her shots, but she put her big girl smile on and enjoyed her weekend with her Grandma!
Saturday we took Jane to Avon, Colorado to see the mountain town that Lou had lived in for a Winter. We had lunch at The Dusty Boot in the Village of Beavercreek. It was absolutely beautiful out...85! Record High! The sun was shining and the skiers were skiing in t-shirts!
Sunday we surprised Jane with tickets to the Colorado Rockies baseball game....but who would have known that the weather would had turned so awful, 35 and SNOW!! Yes 85one day and 35 and snow the next! We bundled Mia up and headed in town thinking we would try the game, but the game was postponed. At least Jane got to see the field :)
The rest of Jane's trip was spent relaxing around home and getting to know Mia. Mia has a new splint for her foot, her friend Eric checked her out last week and made her a new pink and glittery splint this month! He is not concerned about her foot...it is still very flexible and could take up to a year to turn to the correct angle that it needs to be.
Mia is smiling more and more everyday, blowing bubbles, talking A LOT and is overall a happy baby. She tends to only fuss when she is overstimulated and ready to be put in her swing for a little alone time! Lou and I have gotten her into a little bit of a routine and that seems to help. She has been sleeping a 5-6 hour stretch at night in her crib, but still occasionally has nights when she wants to sleep in our room with us!
I have two weeks left before I head back to work and I am not sure how I am going to leave her. We did find her a great babysitter! Miss Kelsey is a 21 year old college student whose mom works with me. Kelsey will be watching Mia one evening a week from about 9 pm to midnight...she came over and meet Miss Mia and they instantly clicked. Knowing that they like each other so much definitely makes me feel a little more comfortable leaving her home, although I did try to con my boss into letting me bring the pack in play and Mia to work with me on my office day! She just laughed at me!! Hey, a mom can only wish!
Miss Mia you are getting so big and starting to look soooo different! I just love your sweet little face!
ReplyDeletePS...you are starting to look more like your daddy!
Love, Cassie
