Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a busy, speedy Thanksgiving Holiday. We packed up Ivy and the car and hit the road to Ohio Wednesday morning at 4am. Our original plan was to drive to St. Louis and stay the night and finish the drive Thursday morning, but we were both feeling fairly good and were able to take shifts sleeping in the backseat so we drove straight through! We arrived in Ohio Thursday morning at 4 am...so 22 hours later we made it! Traveling at 28 weeks pregnant was NOT fun....stopping for pee breaks really slowed down our travels, but hey we made it and that is all that matters! :)

We got to town and slept for 3.5 hours and then got up and visited with my Dad before he headed out of town for the weekend. Then the Thanksgiving festivities and contractions began....yes contractions. I was blessed with several contractions on and off all weekend...I have finally realized that it might be time to slow down a bit. They usually happened when I was trying to lift stuff or was just doing too much activity. I am pretty sure they were braxton-hicks but enough to make me nervous considering I was 1300 miles away from my doctor!

We spent Thanksgiving with our families and visited throughout the weekend. Saturday we did some maternity pictures with Morristowne Photography out of Nelsonville, Ohio. We had SO Much fun! Heather and Jeff made us feel super special and we can't wait to see our pictures.

Here are a few sneak peeks:

Also, Saturday my Mom and Sister threw us a very nice baby shower. Lou and I had a great time! We received some really nice gifts and now I can't wait to get everything washed and organized in the baby's room!

Cassie's 15 week bump vs. my 29 week bump! I think mine wins!! :)

Louis and his girlfriend Emma

Chanda, Emma and I after opening presents!

The cake that Bonnie made for us, it was delicious!

Then Sunday morning we had breakfast with our families and hit the road. We stopped in St. Louis to stay the night with our friends Cory and Amy and drove the remainder of the way home Monday in time to get Lou home for work Monday night.

We had a great trip, but I must admit we are both happy to be home and done with traveling for the year. Driving 48 hours is not fun! Pregnant or not pregnant! We are both excited to hang out at home this weekend and just relax...we have no where to be which is the first weekend in a long time!

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Holiday!
