Christmas is right around the corner, can you believe it?!! It seems as though the time just flies by the older you get! Thankfully I have been done with my shopping since mid-November, so I have had no stress worrying about gifts etc.
I decided not to decorate our house for Christmas this year, since I am just plain old tired! However, I did decorate our mantel with our stockings. Lou and I have not bought each other Christmas presents for a couple of years, we only do stocking stuffers for each other (stockings really are my favorite anyway!) so I HAD to get out the stockings! Then I got to thinking, we really do NEED a tree!! As you have all heard me rant before, Lou is a Scrooge and doesn't believe in cutting down a living tree for our own amusement and I honestly hate fake trees, so we have this dilemma every year. This year I secretly went to Lowe's and found a small 4 foot Charlie Brown Tree and brought it home, put some lights on it (all while Louis was at work) and called it good. I figured since it was a Charlie Brown tree no one would give it a nice home so it would have been cut down for no reason, so I picked it! I didn't drag out any ornaments, just lights, a bow on top and our tree skirt. We luckily had some presents from our family sitting around, so I rightfully gave them a nice new home under our tree! Louis did not have much to say about my purchase, but hey I am giving an ugly tree a loving home (even if I am the only one loving it!!)
Stay tuned for a post soon about our neighborhood Griswold's...you won't want to miss it! Lou and I laugh every time we pass their house!
I hope everyone has their tree up and decorated, has their shopping and Christmas cookies made and are enjoying the season! Maybe you are sitting next to the fireplace having a class of wine and if that is the case...I am a tad bit jealous! ;)
where is the picture of Charlie's tree?
