One Year...Can you Believe It?

Lou and I celebrated our one year anniversary the past weekend.....where does the time go? I feel like just yesterday I was working on centerpieces, picking out chair covers and sashes and making invitations.

As I look back to all the planning and work I put into the wedding I am amazed I was ever able to pull it off....however I must admit. I loved doing it! I am convinced in my next life I will be a wedding coordinator! :) Or if you ask my sister she thinks I we should move back to Athens and start a family wedding business...which I must admit would be fun and probably be pretty interesting!

I feel as though we have accomplished quite a bit in the last year and proud to say that I LOVE being married! :) I am pretty sure I wouldn't change anything about my life...yes, pretty sure!

Since our life has drastically changed the last 5 months we didn't have a big trip plan for our anniversary, in fact we didn't have plans at all! We slept in (which for two night shift workers means we slept all day!!) got up and headed to our favorite restaurant, Stella's. Stella's is where we ate the night that Lou proposed to me, so the restaurant is special to the two of us. After dinner we came home and decided we would put the baby's crib together, so we put on our sweatpants, got out the Allen wrench and went to town putting the crib together.

After one or two mistakes, the crib was together and the reality of February started to sink in! I had already ordered our crib bedding (while on sale at Target!!) so we throw the blankets in the crib to get the full affect....and the verdict is...we love it! The crib is beautiful and the bedding looks great...it is super fuzzy and warm!

Now we are debating wall color, we got two different green color samples and while I was at work Sunday night Lou was set on painting the nursery....he tried out both samples only to find out that he likes neither, so we will need to head back to Home Depot to pick out some new green colors!

Last but not least we broke out the top tier of our wedding cake and I must admit I was pretty leery about trying it and was convinced it would be gross and freezer burnt, but it was fabulous!! I imaging it tasted just as good as the cake we had on our wedding day had I actually had a piece of our wedding cake last year!! :)

  1. I love seeing the crib all decked out...it looks very cute. Green is my favorite color, so I know I will love the walls whatever hue they may be. Love you both.....Grandma/Granny/Nanna/Mom/Julie
