Moment of Weakness???

Finally we had our 20 week ultrasound today, we both have been anxious and excited to see our little "peanut." We haven't actually seen it since around 8 weeks, and we were interested to see how big it would be. And I must say we were both amazed and pretty shocked to see the baby....so the the big question is....did we have a moment of weakness and find out the sex of our baby?????!!!

Absolutely NOT!!!

Actually even if we wanted to know the sex of the baby we wouldn't have been able to. The baby was folded up into a ball with it's feet in its face so we couldn't see any genitals!! It must have known that we wanted it to be a secret and it wasn't going to give it away...actually I have already decided the baby is extremely stubborn like its Dad. Anytime it is having a dance party in my stomach and Lou goes to feel it kick, it will stop moving! Stubborn little kid :)

We did get a very cute photo of its face and we have decided that it looks like me but with Lou's lips. The baby did wave at us and usually had its hands up around its face, no sucking its thumb though! It did measure at the correct gestational age so our due date remains February 13th...give or take a few days. It is around 14ounces which is big in weight for a 20 week baby so it better slow down on the growth spurts.

And for all of those NICU nurses out there, it has a four chamber heart, a complete brain that is covered by skull, a spinal cord that is intact and covered with skin and developmentally looks normal. For those of you non-nurses yes I did ask these ridiculous questions!! I had to refrain from asking even more ridiculous questions, but once a NICU nurses always a little paranoid while pregnant is what everyone tells me. I could of went on and on with the questions, but I didn't want to embarrass Lou too much!! :)

Our next ultrasound will be in about 10 weeks to check growth and measurements...until then I leave you with a twenty week bump picture!

  2. I knew you would be strong! I love how the baby was all folded up anyway. He/she wants to make sure their arrival is a surprise. I love the hair color too. And the bump is darling! How exciting!
