Camping Extravaganza

We packed up our rental truck (since the Jeep is in the shop) and headed to the mountains this weekend for a fun camping weekend! We never made it camping last summer so needless to say we were both pretty excited. I found out a really nice spot from a lady that I work with so we drove the two hours to Minturn, Colorado only to find out that the campground was full!! We didn't let that deter our little outing, so we just keep driving down this little dirt road and found a fabulous campsite on the side of the road...so we pulled in and set up camp!






Shortly after we got everything set up it started to rain off and on, we both just looked at each other with a smile on our face, but both secretly thinking "is it going to rain the whole time?" Luckily, we had brought a little shelter house with us so we sat under there and watch the rain turn into hail and then eventually stop. The rain stopped long enough for us to emerge from our shelter and take a walk around our campsite and get a few pictures






Since we don't usually go many places without Ivy, she was along for the trip and she LOVED it! She was in the truck ready to go at 5:00 in the morning Saturday, terrified that we were going to leave without her. Once we got there was ran all over the campsite and then passed out immediately once she was in the tent ready for bed. She had a hard day of play! :)




Sunday morning we woke up to yes...more rain! So we both looked at each other and said, "Let's go home!" So we packed up our stuff and headed back to Denver....are we getting too old to camp?? Maybe! Or are we both just spoiled and were thinking of our sleep number bed at home versus sleeping on an air mattress in a tent during a rain storm??!! Obviously Ivy was ready to head home too, we opened the truck door to start loading and she jumped in the back seat and waited for us to leave!
