Colorado Camping

This year for one of our vacations, we decided to take the kids camping! Lou and I use to really enjoy camping with the last time being when I was pregnant with Mia. We figured the kids were finally old enough to enjoy camping so we asked our friends the Pergeaus to join us.

Andy did some research and we ended up at a KOA in Cotapaxi, CO which was along the Arkansas River. Lisa is not much of a tent camper so Andy, Lisa and Isabella stayed in a little cabin and Lou, the kids and I braved it in a tent.

The first 2 nights went pretty well, but when a storm rolled in the third night, we packed it up and ended up in a cabin. The last thing I wanted to do was sleep in a tent with two wet and cranky toddlers during a thunderstorm.

The KOA was great! It had a heated swimming pool. playground and an art studio where the kids were able to paint pottery.  We do little trips during the day, one day we headed to the Royal Gorge Bridge and the next day we visited a small little town called, Salida.

I think our first camping trip was a success! Mia can't wait until we go again! :)
