Mia and Ms. Kristin

Mia started an in home preschool back in March.  As much as Lou and I liked taking Mia to Jackie's house we just felt as though she needed some more socialization and scheduled activities.  I found an in home preschool in our neighborhood and we made an appointment to meet Ms. Kristin.

The meeting went well and as guilty as I felt about taking Mia from her comfort zone (or maybe it was my comfort zone) Lou and I felt it was the right decision.  We committed to bringing Mia two days a week and the first couple of weeks Mia was a little sad when I dropped her off, but Kristin reassured me she was fine within 5 minutes of me leaving.

The best thing about it is Mia comes home with projects when I pick her up! It is great! She comes home with a painting or something they made in school that day. I noticed she knew some new signs, like for elephant and alligator. She could point out different shapes and tell me what they were and she could sing her ABC's.  I noticed on the trampoline the other day she was singing ring around the rosy with her baby and she tells me about her friends, Josie, Addison, Mollie and of course her favorite, Alfred!

Overall, I think we made a great decision and we look forward to watching Mia grow and learn with Ms. Kristin and her gang of friends!

  1. Grandma Hollen approves of Kristin....she is a gem! Mia is such a social child that it is the best for her making friends and listening to another special adult. Thank goodness for people like Kristin who devote their lives to our sweet children.
