Miss Mia had her 18 month check-up last week and the last of her shots until she is FOUR!! Yippee!! This visit was a tad bit hard because she screamed the entire time the doctor was touching her, he told me that he can confirm that Mia is not autistic because apparently autistic children have no stranger anxiety at all.
Mia is growing each and every day. She eats ALL DAY long but continues to be in the 5th percentile for her weight. The doctor is not concerned about it as long as she is getting adequate nutrition. My theory is she is CONSTANTLY moving so how would we expect her to gain weight anyway! Lou and I think she will be a tall and skinny little girl.
Mia has really started to enjoy going to Miss Jackie's house to play with Logan and Liam. She gets very excited to see him in the morning and he is just as excited to see her. Jackie is excellent with her, she takes them to the park to play everyday, teaches her new signs and is teaching them how to clean up. Mia does at times hit and scratch Logan, but I guess in return he pushes her! We are still working on understanding "no" and removing her from the situation when she chooses not to listen.
Lots of people have asked if Mia understands that a new baby is coming and my honest opinion is NO. She will pull up my shirt and say baby but she also calls everyone baby since we call her that. Her favorite thing to say in the morning, is "hi, baby" when she sees us. I do not think she has a clue that a new baby will be joining us soon. Jackie says that Mia does great with Liam who is 5 months old, she loves on him and gives him kisses all day. She will tell you to "shh" when he is sleeping. So hopefully after an adjustment phase she will enjoy spending time with her sibling.
